Who said we do not have Lebanese Muffins? Well, the Lebanese muffins known as "3esh Alnahel" which means "A Bee Cell" in English is a famous kind of
low-fat sweets, named after its distinctive shape that resembles a bee cell.
Here are the ingredients:
- 2 ½ Tablespoons of Sugar
- 6 Tablespoons of Powder Milk
- 1 ½ Tablespoon of Yeast
- 1 Tablespoon of Baking Power
- 4 Cups of Flour
- 1 ½ Cup of Warm Water
- 3/4 Cup of Oil
Here are the steps:
- Mix the ingredients together until the dough is formed. Cover the dough and leave it for a minimum of 2 hours to brew.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- Cut the dough into small circles, laminate each circle separately, place in it a small piece of cheese or a teaspoon of chocolate, then apply the paste on the filling.
- Place the dough in the tray with a distance of two centimeters between each piece as it will extract.
- Place the tray in the oven and leave up to 30 minutes until the top is drown in color.
PS: Instead of filling the dough with cheese or chocolate, you can place as well Labneh and Olives or any kind of mixture you love.
